One of my earliest learnings on my journey is that we cannot control what is going on outside, but we can control and change our response to it.
Maybe we could learn how to be kinder to ourselves and our challenging thoughts and to have skills and tools at our finger tips for self regulation.
As our nervous systems come into balance, our thoughts become more manageable and often more peaceful.
We are seeing unprecedented levels of anxiety in in the world. And we are all picking up on the collective anxiety as well as having our own.
I have learned both as a parent, and in the work that I do, that as parents, carers, educators, therapists, we underestimate the impact and importance of our state of being for the children in our care.
We are frequently so busy trying to make everything right for them, often creating a hugely anxious state in ourselves trying to control the impossible.
Learning how to be kind to ourselves when it feels overwhelming is hard at first, but we can start to cultivate skill sets through the breath, body and mind to support ourselves and learn a new way.
On this short course I talk about and demonstrate my own go-to practices to calm and regulate myself in tough times. Some of the recordings last a few minutes, others longer and will be available at any time to support your own self-regulation. When we are calm, regulated and connected to our hearts, we create an unspoken communication circle of safety and care. From there everyone can thrive.
